SCRIPTURE
Acts 20:24 What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.
Verse 28 Now it's up to you. Be on your toes—both for yourselves and your congregation of sheep. The Holy Spirit has put you in charge of these people—God's people they are—to guard and protect them. God himself thought they were worth dying for.
Verse 32 Now I'm turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.
OBSERVATION
God has a plan and a purpose and He lets me in on it - be a part of it. God is letting me continue with the work that He has started and will continue after I've moved on.
I'm not alone in this, He has given me the Holy Spirit to help me in protecting and guarding people, people that He gave His life for.
God is the Author and the Finisher of my life and those He has entrusted me with. He wants to do a work through me, but ultimately HE works in them. I need to encourage them to take the leap, walk with God, go to God, embrace God - that is worship. Worship is His Lordship recognized and fully developed in my life! It's an every day process, a destiny to be embraced. Worship is letting go of my brokenness, gaining His wholeness. Worship is beautiful, because God is beautiful. God is in it and He moves through it. Worship is Love and God is Love. A love that cannot be explained and yet through His love I'm found desperate, sustained. I cannot run from it, nor hide from it.
Sustain means enduring without giving way or yielding; keeping up, keep on going, it's an action, a process. Through the cross His love showed up, showed off and will never ever let go as long as I keep my arms open.
I am the only one who can stay in the way of His love for me; and that's why it's important that I yield my life, my every day to Him by sitting at His feet, worshiping.
If I cannot worship every day by myself, in the secret, through His Word and prayer, how can I do it up on stage, in front of others, in the open? Worship is a discipline. My gift can only take me so far, can only take others so far, but God’s love and presence is forever.
APPLICATION
Priorities are a discipline not a feeling. My relationship with God is a priority, it needs to be nurtured.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for Your beautiful Word today. God I love when You open up the Word to me. Thank You Holy Spirit for teaching and guiding me. Thank You that I've had this time to work on our relationship - thank You God that there's forever ahead. Lord, help me to keep my priorities in check. Keep me wanting, keep me longing! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
