"Not settling for comfort but freedom"
SCRIPTURE
Exodus 16:1-3 On the fifteenth day of the second month after they had left Egypt, the whole company of Israel moved on from Elim to the Wilderness of Sin which is between Elim and Sinai. The whole company of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron there in the wilderness. The Israelites said, "Why didn't God let us die in comfort in Egypt where we had lamb stew and all the bread we could eat? You've brought us out into this wilderness to starve us to death, the whole company of Israel!"
OBSERVATION
The Israelites wanted comfort over freedom! How sad that I would choose comfort over freedom, but that's what we all do A LOT. Not even realizing, I do that in my daily walk of life. Freedom costs where comfort don't. Comfort satisfies the soul only for a moment, but freedom for eternity.
APPLICATION
I need God to open my eyes to when I'm choosing comfort rather than freedom. Making better choices for a better me.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for choosing comfort over freedom. Lord, I ask that You would help me to clearly see the difference in the little things in my life. I ask You to help me make the right decisions and to follow through. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
