READ: 1 Sam 27; Ps 141; 1 Chr 9; Mt 10
Topic: Don’t step in the Holy Spirit’s way
SCRIPTURE:
Ps 141:8
But God, dear Lord, I only have eyes for You.
Matt 10:14,15
If they don’t welcome you, quietly withdraw. Dot’ make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. Don’t be sure that on Judgment Day they’ll be mighty sorry – BUT IT’S NO CONCERN OF YOURS NOW.
Matt 10:39
If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me you’ll find both yourself and me.
OBSERVATION: God hasn’t asked me to do the Holy Spirit’s job. I know this is true, but a lot of times I get frustrated with the fact when people don’t seem to care to worship God in the times when I lead worship. I need to take that burden off me… I’m putting the Holy Spirit in a box when my expectations and frustrations get in the way! I need to remind myself of this that I need to do God’s work to the best of my ability – being obedient to what He has asked me to do; and leave the result up to them and God.
APPLICATION:
Look to God and I’ll find Him and myself! I need to be obedient to God and step out of the way! (My emotions and expectations need to step out of the way)
PRAYER:
“God I thank Your for Your Word today. Forgive me for stepping in the way. I ask You to forgive me of my sins, rid me off myself today Lord. I’m in need of hearing You and being obedient only to You, not to my emotions. I ask for Your help Father. I ask You to lead me and then to lead others. I want to be YOUR hands and YOUR feet! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
