READ: Ezek 45,46; Lk 1
Topic: Words from my mouth
SCRIPTURE:
Lk 11:18-20 Zachariah said to the angel, "Do you expect me to believe this? I'm an old man and my wife is an old woman." But the angel said, "I am Gabriel, the sentinel of God, sent especially to bring you this glad news. But because you won't believe me, you'll be unable to say a word until the day of your son's birth. Every word I've spoken to you will come true on time—God's time."
OBSERVATION:
Words in my mouth are powerful, able to bring death or life! What I say is important. Do not speak hastily, but think before I speak. Speak what is true and noble, what will honor God. What brings Him honor and glory and what pleases Him, not only during worship. Worship is not only when I’m on stage, but my entire existence is worship. Who am I going to worship?
APPLICATION:
Asking God to put a guard before my mouth; and to think before I speak – taking a moment, a “time-out”.
PRAYER:
“Lord, forgive me for being so foolish, for forgetting the power of my words. After all, you did create with Your words; and now I am to be like You, “create” with my words. My words and death or life, and You choose for me Lord, not me! Your choice is obvious, please let me please You with my daily words and may I bring honor to Your Name always! I love You and want to show my love to You in everything I do. Forgive me for grieving You Holy Spirit. Help, I need help to honor the Father! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
