READ: Ps 149; 1 Cor 15,16
Topic: ministry
SCRIPTURE:
1 Cor 15:36-38,43,44,58 “We do have a parallel experience in gardening. You plant a "dead" seed; soon there is a flourishing plant. There is no visual likeness between seed and plant. You could never guess what a tomato would look like by looking at a tomato seed. What we plant in the soil and what grows out of it don't look anything alike. The dead body that we bury in the ground and the resurrection body that comes from it will be dramatically different. The corpse that's planted is no beauty, but when it's raised, it's glorious. Put in the ground weak, it comes up powerful. The seed sown is natural; the seed grown is supernatural—same seed, same body, but what a difference from when it goes down in physical mortality to when it is raised up in spiritual immortality! With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don't hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for Him is a waste of time or effort.”
OBSERVATION:
This passage speaks of our natural bodies being changed into spiritual bodies (end times). Also, it portrays how our lives are changed when we place our lives into God’s hands, and He changes us. When I tie this passage with the last scripture (vs. 58), I also see how God can take what we sow into His Kingdom, no matter how irrelevant or small and grow it into a miracle. Nothing I do – being obedient to His call – is in vain. It’s His work to take a “hopeless situation” and make something beautiful of it.
APPLICATION:
Keep on being faithful, throwing myself into His work being confident He’ll bring tomatoes from seeds!
PRAYER:
“Thank You Lord for this encouraging Word today. I thank You for Your Word that’s always in season. Thank You for speaking to me. Thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit that is always with me. I pray Your forgiveness Lord for not trusting in Your hands. I pray Father that I would speak Words of faith and hope over the seeds sown. I pray for a miracle over our ministries today. May we glorify You and bring You what is due to You. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
