READ: Ezra 5,6; Ps 138; Lk 16
Topic: thankfulness
SCRIPTURE:
Ps 138 “Thank you! Everything in me says "Thank you!" Angels listen as I sing my thanks. I kneel in worship facing your holy temple and say it again: "Thank you!" Thank you for your love, thank you for your faithfulness; Most holy is your name, most holy is your Word. The moment I called out, you stepped in; you made my life large with strength. When they hear what you have to say, God, all earth's kings will say "Thank you." They'll sing of what you've done: "How great the glory of God!" And here's why: God, high above, sees far below; no matter the distance, he knows everything about us. When I walk into the thick of trouble, keep me alive in the angry turmoil. With one hand strike my foes, with your other hand save me. Finish what you started in me, God. Your love is eternal—don't quit on me now.”
OBSERVATION:
How thankful David is towards God in this psalm; and how thankful I am. If it wasn’t for God and would not be here now. I am thankful today and forever for His grace and mercy; and that He took it upon Himself to start a work in me! My prayer is that He would continue besides my failures – that He would see His Son and the blood He has poured over my life. “Keep on pouring the blood over my life Lord, I need Your mercy.”
APPLICATION:
Keep being thankful and keep on praising!
PRAYER:
“Father, I lack so much – but in YOU there is NO lack. I pray today God that You would take my life and form it Lord. I pray that You would make something out of nothing – for ONLY YOUR GLORY! I just want to please You Jesus, I want to put a smile on Your face. I want to make You happy that You created me. Thank You for Your mercy and grace Lord. Continue the work that You’ve begun in my life! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
