“Being a magnet to God!”

READ: Jer 21,24,27; Ps 118; 1 Jn 2

Topic: Don’t love the world’s ways

SCRIPTURE:
1 Jn 2:15-17 “Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world – wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important – has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from Him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out – but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.”

OBSERVATION:
I see 2 things here, first, not loving the world and its ways; and second, doing whatever God wants. What a great reminder not to be SO consumed with what the world throws at us – what to it seems important, but being consumed with God’s desires for us. That’s how I invite God into my life.

APPLICATION:
Resist the world’s ways and being filled with His ways and truth.

PRAYER:
“God thank You for Your love that’s so evident in Your Word for me. Thank You that You are looking out for me. Lord I pray that You would daily draw me closer to You. Show me Your truth and direction. And may I be FILLED with You Lord… may I in my decisions amplify You in my life. More of You Lord and less of me. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
